Planning to renovate your Paphos pool? From retiling to new equipment, learn how to plan and budget a full pool makeover with Pool Pro.
Is It Time to Renovate?
Most Paphos pools built before 2010 are overdue for at least a partial renovation. Signs include:
- Cracked or missing tiles
- Faded or peeling plaster
- Outdated single-speed pump consuming too much electricity
- No heat pump or LED lighting
- Old plastic fittings that leak
Planning Your Pool Renovation
Step 1: Assessment
Book a Pool Pro assessment visit. We'll photograph and document every issue and provide a detailed quote with priority levels (urgent repairs vs cosmetic upgrades).
Step 2: Decide the Scope
Basic renovation (€2,000–5,000):
- New liner or replaster
- Replace all fittings and seals
- New pump and filter media
Mid-range renovation (€5,000–12,000):
- All of the above plus:
- Retiling or mosaic work
- LED lighting
- New heat pump
- Automatic cover
Premium renovation (€12,000+):
- All of the above plus:
- Pool extension or reshaping
- Overflow system
- Automated chemical dosing
- Outdoor kitchen and landscaping integration
Step 3: Timing
October–February is the best time to renovate in Paphos — contractors are less busy, prices are slightly lower, and you'll be ready for the March/April season opening.
Step 4: Water Supply
Remember that refilling a renovated pool requires a water delivery truck — budget €150–400 depending on pool size.
